2) A good
and reliable web-host – and you’ll have to pay for this, so it’s important to pick one that suits
you. And with web-hosts, there’s a lot to consider. There are lots of websites that compare the available web-hosts
– so I’m not even going to try.
But I will discuss the two different web-hosts WE use. We use
Site Build It! (SBI!) and
Powweb.
Our first website -
”Achieve Goal Setting Success” - uses SBI! And I’m glad we started out internet venture with this product because it gives by far the best step-by-step
approach to setting up a successful website – just what we needed as Internet newbies!
SBI! is one of the
more expensive web-hosts (around $25/ month) but I think it’s worth it because it makes website building so easy –
and enjoyable!
With our second site (this one) we thought we’d try a different web host (and cheaper at
only $7/ month) – and we compared the options and eventually settled on Powweb. The functionality of Powweb is not quite
as good as SBI! but it still has everything you need for an information based website.
Building this website with
Powweb was easy enough, but it would have been a lot harder if we didn’t have the experience from the step-by-step approach
of SBI!
But what ever web-host you choose, just do your research first and make sure you pick one that has the
features needed for your site. And if a particular web-host doesn’t work out, you can always change!
So,
armed with the above – there’s nothing stopping you!
Another internet based service we use to help
promote our website is
SubmitEdge. You’ll read that getting one-way in pointing links to your site is vital in improving your site ranking and traffic.
You can so this yourself by submitting the details of your website to directories and even writing and submitting articles
to article sites.
But this takes a lot of time – there are over 5,000 directories that you can submit to,
without even considering the article submission sites! So, you can pay a company like SubmitEdge to do it for you. Again,
there are many internet service providers that can do this for you, so compare them and chose the one that suits your needs
the best!
